Hello again from Margarita. We are continuing to enjoy our new island with lots of beach time and some new adventures. The weather is perfect. Everyday is sunny, warm, with a gentle breeze. The weather is not even a topic of discussion here as everyday is the same. They are hoping for rain soon however, as things are a little drier than normal for this time of the year.

For this blog I have mostly shots from around the island and some of the other beaches we have started to explore. So I apologise for those of you who like "people pictures"!
The photos will hopefully give you a sense of the varied terrain from mountains to deserts, to tropical greenery, mangroves and sand dunes. It really is a beautiful island. So far we have visited 5 of the over 50 beaches. Never a dull moment. Today we saw a dog surfing!!
Yesterday we went to El Yague, which is a world reknown kite boarding and wind surfing beach. Wow, I have never seen so many surfers and kites flying around. We met our friends from Venezeula there as they moved to that beach for a few days.
A few days ago we took a jeep safari tour of the island with Tanja, our friend from Denmark. What fun!! Open air, rather hot and bumpy but an exciting adventure. We stopped at castles, a very old historic village, mangroves, Puntas Arenas, desert washouts, cactus fields and finally a fishing town with some excellent stores!!

La Restinga National Park

The next pictures are of a beach called Playa Parquito which is next to our beach. It is the surfing beach of the island and where the young crowd hangs out. There are some excellent surfers there and is very entertaining to watch. We have though about trying a boogie board except I don't like the salt water in my eyes!!
Great Blog! Venezuela looks awesome!
